Located mainly in the Martin Harris Centre, Manchester University Music Society (MUMS) is open to everybody and aims to offer a musical experience to suit all kinds of musicians.
The mission of the society is to bring together like-minded, and passionate musicians in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and provide them with opportunities to hear and make music on a regular basis to a high standard.
We showcase our ensembles, as well as soloists, throughout the year via a plethora of music-making opportunities and concerts. Particular highlights include the Lunchtime Concert series, with relaxed weekly concerts that anyone is able perform in, as well as a joint concert in The Whitworth Hall with the University's Chorus each term.
Throughout the pandemic we hugely expanded our online content, producing virtual showcases on our YouTube channel, inviting guests to hold workshops and talks with our members, and offering remote Alexander Technique sessions.
