I am a gigging jazz pianist in and around Manchester’s top venues, as well as having taught pupils piano and jazz piano lessons over the past year within the University of Manchester.
I have experience teaching the piano. dipABRSM in flute, Grade 8 theory and piano. I have a lot of experience caring for children, both in school care and babysitting.
I have been a piano teacher since I was 14 and have completed grade 8. I have also got a flute diploma and have mentored beginner flute players.
Taught two flautists aged 11 and 12. Taught four pianists ranging from age 5-50. Have been teaching for over 2 years.
Trinity LTCL performance diploma (distinction) + 12 years of competition experience.
I have three years of one-to-one teaching experience with people of a wide age range and many years of playing experience on all three of the instruments I teach. I have also taken lessons on all three instruments from a range of disciplines from masters of jazz to the bands of HM Royal Marines which has provided me with a wide variety of teaching approaches. I have taught as a peripatetic instrumental teacher for three years as part of the UVHS Primary Music Scheme and independently on saxophone, piano and drums. References can be provided for this experience if required.
I have been involved in the String Orchestra, Orchestra as First Principle Violin , Concert and Chamber Choirs at college which has had an ever-lasting impression on me. I have learnt to be an integral part of the ensembles by learning that every single part is an important part to play. I was part of many ensembles both in and out of school including the Manchester Youth Wind Orchestra, Manchester String Orchestra and Cèilidh String Orchestra. I’ve also played as part of duos, trios, and quartets on my violin. Moreover, I explored the different sections of the orchestra by playing the flute and trumpet as part of the Brass and Woodwind bands as well as a range of orchestral performances. This experience has built my confidence in live performances through playing a range of styles and enhancing the theories I learnt during my studies. I possess a good musical ear, and I am aware of acoustics, rhythmic skills, and timing.I have also played the principle Viola in the youth Philharmonic orchestra , which was great fun and I also learned a lot about being in the different parts of the orchestra.
I am committed to pursue a career in music education. My music director at college enabled me to strengthen my career path by allowing me to teach others independently. I am responsible for preparing the resources and content that I present during my weekly sessions. In the sessions, I explain aspects of music theatrical works, theory, harmony, and provide guidance to note taking.
I am a third year student studying on the prestigious GRNCM ‘joint course’ undergraduate degree with the Royal Northern College of Music and the University of Manchester. I currently study with Laura Jellicoe at the RNCM and was awarded the Proctor-Gregg prize for highest first year recital mark from the University of Manchester in 2021. During my flute career I have studied with many different teachers, ranging from local instrumental teachers to successful professionals. This variety of input has given me experience with many types of teaching, meaning that I will be able to tailor my methods to meet your specific needs.
I am looking to give lessons to complete beginners up to grade 5 standard.
I have played in youth orchestras my whole life, and in particular I have played alongside small children and taught them as we played. I am also a music student and clarinet is my first study!
