Symphony Orchestra Auditions
The MUMS Symphony Orchestra is a high-standard, auditioned ensemble which has various concerts throughout the term. Auditions are held in both semesters and are used to seat players in Symphony Orchestra projects.
All MUMS members who wish to be seated in projects throughout the year must audition, whether new or returning members.
For your audition we ask that you prepare a solo piece of your choice (roughly 2 to 3 minutes - this can be a sort extract from a longer piece) as well as the orchestral excerpts applicable to your instrument.

Big Band Auditions
Manchester University Big Band is MUM's flagship, high-standard, auditioned jazz band! Auditions are open to musicians who play trumpet, trombone, saxophone, piano, bass, drums, guitar, percussion, and singers, who are interested in jazz music.
